Good location on one side of a large, grassy square in the centre of Bath.
Historic sandstone building, which is slightly shabby and creaky inside. Room was OK: clean but showing signs of wear and tear. They are in the process of modernising some rooms, though I'm not sure how far through they are.
Friendly, efficient reception on arrival and helpful staff all round. We stayed on the weekend of the Bath half marathon and they were very relaxed and flexible dealing with enquiries and organising ate checkouts - even when the race was delayed by an hour at the last minute.
Breakfats was good ..decent buffet and excellent Full English. And served by cheery and efficient waiting staff.
Overall nothing remarkable, but fine as a base for exploring Bath.
